Description The Business Office Billing Specialist is a qualified, versatile individual who will perform a variety of billing functions, insurance verification, patient discharge functions in the Home Health Agency office. Will perform multiple functions: in-take referrals, start-of-care confirmations, medical chart updates, data entry, and various business office clerical functions. |

Qualifications
| |
Spanish - English bi-lingual, able to read, write, speak both English and Spanish. 40% of clients are Spanish speaking families. |
| |
Excellent administrative, communication, detail-oriented, organizational, and follow-up skills required. |
| |
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software applications required, MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook. Medical software, i.e. HealthWyse experience is preferred. |
| |
Minimum of three years experience in insurance claim filing, patient record documentation and medical billing and payment processing preferred. |

Duties
| |
Responsible for obtaining pre-authorization from all insurance coverage for each patient. Calls insurance companies to acquire authorization codes |
| |
Take incoming patient referral calls, enters data into patient charting system. |
| |
Is flexible and able to perform a wide variety of administrative support functions. These functions can include, but are not limited to data entry documentation, printing reports, filing, typing, and note taking. |
| |
Performs all duties in compliance with agency policies and procedures. Adheres to all rules, regulations, code of ethics, guidelines and codes in federal, state and local laws, which are concerned with licensed and certified home health care |
