Course Description:

Assessment tools are an integral part of the SOC and Re-evaluation process. Results from standardized and/or criterion-referenced assessment contribute to the SOC & Re-eval process in a variety of ways:

  • Supporting development of the Plan of Care and the rationale behind that POC
  • Assisting to paint a clear picture of a child’s medically based therapeutic needs
  • Providing an objective measure through which payer sources can clearly see medical appropriateness of recommended services
  • Offering a clear, objective method for determining progress and the impact of intervention

The Assessment Tools & Processes training is for all agency clinicians and addresses assessment tool selection and the purpose of assessment tools within the context of the SOC & Re-evaluation process.  This training also provides opportunities to explore the specific function of assessment tools as related to particular sections of the T2K templates (assessment report with test interpretation, clinical summary, and dosage). Supports and resources available for expanding knowledge of assessment tools will also be explored.
