This course provides a basic review of high-risk infant assessment, plan of care and goal priorities.
It will also include knowledge on typical/atypical postures, handling and positioning, and common interventions for the neuromotor system. Interventions will be discussed, demonstrated and practiced in a small group setting/lab environment using baby dolls. Q/A with case scenarios will be included.
- Participants will be able to verbalize four atypical postures in the high-risk infant.
- Participants will be able to demonstrate three interventions for handling the high-risk infant during functional activities.
- Participants will be able to demonstrate three interventions for positioning the high-risk infant for functional activities.
