WEB MEETING – SLP Forum: Informal Assessment & Functional Goal Writing
*This is an internal event for THERAPY 2000 / GAT therapists only *
CEU Hours: 2 Hours (TSHA approved)
Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
Vanessa Reynolds, MS, CCC-SLP & Michelle Tebout, MS, CCC-SLP
This SLP Forum will focus on identifying questions to ask caregivers to determine functional impairments a child experiences daily and what routines are impacted. The training will assist therapists to include informal assessments and skills outside of standardized testing in their documentation, resulting in the ability to develop meaningful/functional goals more quickly/efficiently. In addition, SMART goal format will be reviewed, as well as ensuring that each goal is related to a child/family specific function/routine.
As a result of this presentation the participant will be able to…
1. Identify at least 3 different questions to ask caregivers that will guide them with developing parent based goals that are functional and routine based.
2. Describe 3 areas of development to assess and document in evaluations that are not included in standardized testing.
3. Write at least 2 functional/meaningful/routine-related SMART goals based on provided case study.
