Description: This course will address populations most at risk for developing a cortical visual impairment and will guide therapists in recognizing signs and symptoms. Therapists will also learn a variety of evidence-based strategies and how to incorporate these strategies into therapeutic intervention.
Objectives:
Following this training, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the visual cortex/pathway
2. Identify the characteristics of a cortical visual impairment
3. List the levels of a CVI and describe the characteristics of each level
4. Describe intervention strategies for gaining visual attention and improving performance
