After graduating undergrad from Texas State (it was Southwest Texas when I attended- that’s how old I am!) and completing my master’s at North Texas in Denton, I started my career at Baylor Dallas in acute care with adult stroke patients. I quickly realized that my heart belonged to the pediatric population because I love the creativity and fun of working with kids. During my many years in public schools, I enjoyed finding new opportunities to make therapy fun and engaging. The door to home health opened with a phone call from a recruiter asking if I wanted to see some patients after school. After my first patient (and a challenging one at that!) I was hooked on seeing patients one-on-one in their homes. I loved seeing patients in their home environment, building relationships with families, and watching my patients grow. I’ve had the opportunity to serve as full-time field staff, a speech clinical manager, and a director in the 12 years I’ve been in the home health setting. I’m in constant awe of how dedicated and amazing speech, occupational, and physical therapists are and how they inspire us to find new ways to serve patients in their homes and community.
 
 

When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my husband of 17 years and our three children. We are usually watching movies, baking, crafting, or playing family games. I love traveling, seeing new places, and showing my kids the world. I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, home DIY, and learning new things!
