Serving Children in South Texas: A Commitment to Growth, Access, and Impact

“"In my first six months at Therapy 2000, I learned so much," Erin shares. "The bar is set high here, but you're supported every step of the way. It's pushed me to become a better clinician."”

Erin is an Occupational Therapist, bringing her years of experience to Therapy 2000 in South Texas where dedicated clinicians are deeply needed.

The Best Kept Secret in Texas: Corpus Christi
In a region where it can be challenging to recruit therapists, Erin serves children and families across both rural and urban communities, making a meaningful impact where access to care matters most. And while the need is great, she’s quick to share that South Texas offers so much in return, including a low cost of living, great schools, and a strong sense of community.

A Career Across Settings. A Home Found in Home Health

Erin has worked across nearly every setting, including Early Childhood Intervention, hospitals, inpatient rehab, and clinics, but found her true calling in home health. What drew her in was flexibility, but what kept her was something more meaningful: a culture that challenges clinicians to grow.

“In my first six months at Therapy 2000, I learned so much,” Erin shares. “The bar is set high here, but you’re supported every step of the way. It’s pushed me to become a better clinician.”

Serving the Family

For Erin, occupational therapy is one of the most dynamic and impactful disciplines. It’s about more than milestones, it’s about bringing all the pieces together to help a child thrive. In the home setting especially, that means understanding not just the patient, but the entire family.
“What’s written on paper isn’t always what matters most to a family,” she explains. “You learn to listen differently. You’re helping the whole family unit become more connected and confident as they learn to adjust to and support their child's unique developmental needs.”

She also values Therapy 2000’s commitment to episodic care, supporting families when they need it most while empowering them to move forward, something she knows can be difficult, but ultimately leads to stronger, more independent outcomes.

A Rewarding Career Worth Sharing

As a seasoned OT, Erin is passionate about mentoring the next generation. She works closely with COTAs and encourages more evaluating therapists to step into supervisory roles. “It’s incredibly rewarding to help develop future clinicians. We need more OTs willing to lead, teach, and grow others, especially in communities like ours.”
