Rachel is a physical therapist assistant who came to Therapy 2000 looking for something the traditional therapy setting rarely offers: the freedom to build a schedule that works for her, without sacrificing the professional growth she'd worked hard for. What she found was a career model she didn't know existed and one that continues to evolve with her.
A Schedule She Helped Design
Rachel splits her time between home health visits and dedicated blocks at a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) facility. It's a hybrid approach that gives her the best of both worlds. In the home health setting, she sees patients in their own environments, understanding not just their diagnosis, but their daily reality. That context makes her a better clinician.
At the PPEC, the experience shifts entirely. A PPEC facility is a specialized, non-residential “medical daycare” for children with complex medical conditions, typically birth to age 20. These centers provide skilled nursing and care, allowing parents to work while children play, learn, and receive medical services during their day. For Rachel, being in one facility for multiple patients eliminates the drive associated with a typical home health day. Additionally, she works shoulder to shoulder with colleagues, including skilled nurses, consulting in real time, sharing approaches, and tackling more complex cases than either setting might offer alone. It's efficient, collaborative, and clinically rich.
Therapists have different goals, different seasons of life, and different definitions of a great workday. At Therapy 2000, that's understood, appreciated and available.
Growth With Support
Variety is built into Rachel’s role by design. The range of diagnoses she encounters keeps her engaged and constantly learning. Therapy 2000's robust CEU library through sister company Knowledge is Now and culture of continuous education mean she has the resources to meet every new challenge with confidence.
She has also found something less tangible but equally important: a community. Working alongside mentors and interdisciplinary teammates has sharpened her clinical thinking in ways that isolated practice simply can't replicate.
Supported Every Step of the Way
Rachel describes her experience at Therapy 2000 as consistently supported, responsive leadership, a well-managed caseload, strong benefits, and a team that genuinely invests in its therapists. It's a culture that puts clinicians first, because Therapy 2000 believes that when therapists thrive, patients do too.
