Meet Ginger Hudson: our occupational therapist treating in the Forney-Garland area. Ginger graduated from TWU in 1998 with BS in Occupational Therapy. She also has a special interest in Assistive Technology, serving as the AT coordinator with previous positions. Ginger has worked in a variety of other settings, including adult rehab and schools, but loves working in pediatric home health the most! She finds that one on one sessions in the natural environment help facilitate a relationship with the patients and their families, focusing interventions towards what is most important to them. Ginger says she loves the feeling that she is making a difference in the lives of her patients and families.
Ginger has been with Therapy 2000 a little over a year. When asked what she enjoys most about the agency, “I love the positive attitude of everyone that I have come into contact with, from the therapists in the field, the office staff, and the leadership! I feel that Therapy 2000 is a very solid company to work for and I value that.” While working in home health can be fun and rewarding, there can be challenges as well. Some challenges that Ginger faces are maintaining full time visit numbers and challenges with the unit billing changes. Despite these barriers, Ginger adapts well. A few tips she has for handling challenges include increasing use with point of service documentation, packing a healthy lunch and eating on the go, and continuing to accept new patients to buffer caseloads.
When Ginger isn’t working, she values time spent with her 3 children and their significant others, her family, and her friends. She enjoys traveling and new experiences and makes self-care a priority. This past year she has been able to travel to Hawaii, Mexico, and Seattle. She was also able to celebrate the wedding of her oldest daughter, and she is expecting her first granddaughter!
