Thinking Outside of The Box for COTAs and PTAs

This course is pending approval for 2.25 CEUs by TOTA and 2.25 CCUs by TPTA.

Course Description:

This class is designed especially for COTAs and PTAs to assist them in feeling more confident in following their Plans of Care, documenting progress, and problem solving difficult cases.

About Our Speakers:

Meghann Louvier, PT, DPT: Meghann is a PT and Team Manager in the East Texas Division. She has been with Therapy 2000 for 4 years. She graduated from The University of Texas Health Science Center and has worked in OP Pediatric and Therapy 2000. She enjoys working with the HRI population, being a TM, supervising PTAs, and mentoring.


Kimberly Westbrook, OTR, BS: Kimberly has been an OT with Therapy 2000 for close to 5 years and a Team Manager in the East Texas Division since August of 2014. Kimberly graduated from Texas Woman’s University in 1982. She has practiced for 34 consecutive years, the last 17 in pediatrics. Kimberly’s passion is teaching and mentoring new grads and COTAs.

Learner Objectives

1. Participants will develop effective treatment plans based on written goals.
2. Participants will describe how to strengthen specific muscle groups to improve function.
3. Participants will describe/measure objective patient performance related to the goal.
4. Participants will list 2 benefits for providing/documenting coordination of care and teaching;
5. Participants will list 2 community transition activities in their geographical areas.
